Ali has been a postdoctoral researcher at CIS since 02/2020. His research focuses on computer modelling of biomechanical behaviour of biological tissues, which are frequently developed using continuum mechanics and nonlinear finite element method. Ali has hands-on experience in using inverse methods for constitutive modelling of soft tissues from the single-cell level up to the tissue level. He has been involved in developing patient-specific models to investigate growth and remodelling of soft tissues during wound healing and the interactions between implanted devices and surrounding biological tissues. He is also interested in using artificial intelligence to develop data-driven predictive models
