My academic interests focus on programming and mechatronics applied to biomedical engineering. I work on the development and control of automated mechatronic systems, combining software engineering with optical and electronic instrumentation.
I was student teaching assistant in physics for bioengineers at Universidad de Antioquia in Colombia. I conducted tutoring sessions, reviewed student assignments, and provided academic guidance to reinforce physical concepts and its applications to biomedical engineering.
I am a bioengineer with a background in programming, electronics, and mechatronic system design. I completed my internship at the startup KaomX in collaboration with École des Mines Saint-Étienne, where I automated and integrated an optical coherence tomography (OCT) system into a biaxial testing machine. I also contributed to the development of a graphical user interface for the testing machine using Python and JavaScript, and applied robust design methodologies to improve system reliability. In addition, I participated in the experimental mechanical characterization of various biological tissues and hydrogels.
Currently, I work as a research and development engineer, focusing on image processing, control of optical and electronic systems, and the dynamic mechanical characterization of hydrogels and biological tissues. I also continue to contribute to the development of new functionalities for the biaxial testing machine and to experimental characterization protocols.
