THE ROLE OF INTRACRANIAL PULSATILITY IN PATHOLOGICAL BRAIN AGEING

Developing a simulation framework for interpreting cerebral pulsatility data through numerical modeling. The focus is on integrating 0D models of cerebrospinal fluid and blood dynamics with a 2D poroelastic model of brain tissue and a 1D model of transport in the PVS. The overall objective is to identify correlations between biomechanical alterations in the brain and the progression of neurodegenerative diseases.

Teaching

As part of my PhD contract, I carry out approximately 60 hours of teaching per year. These hours are distributed between the co-supervision of BMED master’s students during the development of their master’s projects and the design and teaching of a practical course (TP) for the post-bac PDIS program.

Background

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics from the University of Pisa (Italy).
