Platelet Physiology & Inflammation

Unravelling blood platelets’ contribution to pathophysiological mechanisms related to endogenous stress (transfusion & aging) with a focus on circulation and cardiovascular systems.

Combination of ex vivo, in vitro, and in vivo approaches to decipher platelet thrombo-inflammatory responses involved in these mechanisms.

– Thrombo-inflammatory role of platelets in a transfusion context: Improvement and evaluation of platelet concentrate preparation processes to optimize transfusion efficiency and develop personalized transfusion.

– Inflammatory role of platelets in aging context : figure out the fundamental mechanisms governing platelet thrombo-inflammatory responses during ageing to define new molecular targets to regulate platelet’s response.

Background

I am research scientist (Chargé de recherche) at French Blood Establishment (EFS) affiliated at INSERM U-1059 SAINBIOSE Unit. I work in vascular biology, with a special focus on blood components and platelets, since 2021.

I received my PhD in Immunology & Microbiology in 2015 at Laval University (Québec, Canada). Then I performed several post doc at Laval University (Québec, Canada) between 2015-2016; at Karolinska institutet (Stockholm, Sweden) between 2016-2017; at Heart Institute Ottawa University (Ottawa, Canada) between 2017-2019. Since my return in France, I was appointed as assistant professor at Pharmacology faculty in Aix-Marseille University, in C2VN unit between 2019-2021. I got, in 2021, my permanent position as junior scientist &Principal Investigator at EFS & SAINBIOSE
