David Eglin expertise is in synthesis and processing of biomaterials notably biopolymer-based hydrogels for cells embedding, drug-delivery. He is developing also an expertise in additive manufacturing for the development of programmable technologies. He has experience on the translation of responsive biomaterials from in vitro to in vivo studies, most notably in the musculoskeletal field, with a strong interest in understanding cell-material interactions.
David Eglin is teaching to Engineers, Masters and Licence at Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne, EM Lyon and University Jean Monnet.
David Eglin is Head of the Biomaterials Department at the Centre for Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering and deputy of the head of the LBTO team in SAINBIOSE. Graduated in Chemistry, he has experiences in industry and academia. He has over 150 peer-reviewed articles and 8 patents. He was awarded the 2011 Jean Leray award for his outstanding research contributions to the field of biomaterials given by the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB).
