Academic interests

Expert in calcium phosphate (CaP)-based biomaterials, I’m working on the development of innovative methods and tools (e.g. custom synthesis and manufacture, 3D cell culture, perfusion culture system) to help understand bone cell biology and bone tissue morphogenesis, as well as on the development of bioinstructive materials to promote the regeneration of large bone defects. This multidisciplinary work is based on the modulation of the chemistry and architectures of CaP-based biomaterials, as well as their fine physico-chemical and biological characterisation.

Teaching

Teaching activities in biomaterials at ICM (Ingénieur Civil des Mines), Licence (UJM) and MASTER (Mines, UJM, Paris) levels.

Background

Doctor of Science in chemistry, chemistry-physics (2005), I worked for 9 months at the University of Limoges as an assistant professor (2006) and then for 2.5 years as an R&D engineer for Medtronic (Deggendorf, Germany), where I developed the synthesis of CaP on an industrial scale for biomedical applications. I was appointed Associate Professor at Mines Saint-Etienne in 2009, where I set up and am still developing research activities on bone regeneration.
