Academic interests

Having worked deeply in materials science, spectroscopic techniques, nanofabrication, bio chemistry and plasmonic, I have analytical research experience with molecular biology, surface sciences and bio-sensing. During my PhD I study the interaction of DNA with pesticides and the change in the morphology of DNA molecule with various spectroscopic techniques. The practical concentrations of pesticides that living being interacts on daily basis are very low, so sensitive techniques are required to test such low concentrations. Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) biosensor was developed combined with the good functionalization method, this biosensor is able to detect concentrations down to Atto molar concentrations. Presently, I am working on Grating coupled SPR biosensor to rapidly and accurately study the continuous interaction between the RANKL and the antibodies against RANKL in a label free manner. RANKL protein plays a vital role in the bone metabolism as the RANK/RANKL binding activites signalling pathway that promotes osteoclastogenesis and bone resorption. As I have a vast set of skills I would like to bridge the gap between biology and nanotechnology to develop better techniques for the detection of diseases at early stages.

Background

I did Bachelor in Electronics and Communication engineering studies, after that I proceeded with Master of Technology in Instrumentation. During the Master thesis I worked on the project that was in collaboration with French lab in Grenoble. I developed interest to study in France and moved to France for second Master’s degree in Physics, Photonics and Nanotechnology at Universite de Burgogne, Dijon. After the successful completion of the masters, I joined Universite the Technologies des Troyes as a PhD researcher where I learned about Optics, Nanotechnology and Biochemistry and worked on the development of Surface Plasmon Resonance based biosensor to detect changes in the DNA due to toxic molecules. Presently, I am a Post-Doc working between SAINBIOSE and Universite Jean Monnet at Saint-Etienne, I am implementing all the knowledge I gathered during my previous studies and working on project to develop a Grating coupled SPR biosensor for RANKL and RANK; biomarkers for osteoporosis.
