Background

Thierry Thomas is Professor of Medicine, Head of the Rheumatology Department and the current President of the Medical Board at the University Hospital of Saint-Étienne (CHUSE), France. He is also a member of the INSERM Unit 1059, the Integrative Biology of Bone Tissue Laboratory. Professor Thomas is an active member of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO).  He has been in his career President of the National College of Academic Teaching in Rheumatology (COFER) and President of the French Society of Rheumatology (SFR). He sits on the editorial board of Osteoporosis International. He is well published in the medical literature, with 270 full-length manuscripts in scientific journal with peer review or medical book chapters.
