  • The Bruker SkyScan 1276 desktop X-Ray Microtomograph is designed for fast, in vivo scanning of small lab animals and biological samples. The large field of view (up to 80 mm wide and 300 mm long) allows to scan larger items. High spatial resolution down to 6 μm voxel size and large image size are achieved by combining continuously variable magnification and 11 Mp X-ray CCD camera (2.8 μm pixel size). Other features include round and spiral scanning enabled by continuous gantry rotation, low dose imaging allowing longitudinal preclinical studies, and fast GPU-based 3D reconstruction from cross sections.

  • The Zeiss LSM800 with airyscan available room A124 is an inverted confocal laser scanning microscope with highly sensitive GaAsP detection and fast linear scanning. Airyscan acquire optical sections with a resolution of 120 nm (in x,y) and 350 nm (in z). With the 4-8x better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of Airyscan you will be pushing sensitivity and resolution. The Zen blue system is operating in a spectral mode, don’t worry about filters!! And the station is equipped with culture chamber for monitoring temperature CO2 and O2 pressure!

  • The Zeiss Lightsheet 7 for 3D imaging of live and cleared samples. This microscope provides fast and gentle imaging of living model organisms, tissues, and organoids as well as fixed optically cleared specimens. Specimens can be up to 2 cm in size and at any refractive index between 1.33 and 1.58 compatible with most clearing solutions.High quantum efficiency detectors enable observations of the fastest processes at the lowest illumination light levels. The light sheet geometry illuminates only the parts of the sample you are imaging, greatly reducing photobleaching and phototoxicity. You’ll get a real-life view of your samples without the adverse effects of excitation light on their biology.MAIN FEATURES:

Transcriptomics

The nCounter® Sprint Profiler  combines preparation Station & Digital Analyzer.  Hybridized samples are loaded into a SPRINT cartridge, where a series of microfluidic chambers purifies and immobilizes the fluorescent Reporter Probes and readies them for imaging. Images are processed, and output files include gene names along with associated count numbers.

Computational plateform

Centaur

Intensive computing at Mines de Saint-Étienne relies on high-performance computing infrastructures, in particular a computing cluster , named  Centaure (Rpeak = 41TFlops) composed of 28 CPU computing nodes for a total of 656 cores and 2, 5TB of RAM and  2 GPU compute nodes for a total of 4 GPU cards (a Tesla P100 and 3 amp A100). The characteristics of the front end and the calculation nodes are given below.

Gravity - hyperG plateform

COMAT hyperG
  • Funded by the French Agency of Spatial Studies (CNES), this uniquely designed COMAT hyperG centrifuge measures 1.5m wide and is equiped with mobile gondolas and camera monitoring. This centrifuge can reach 2g, 3g, and up to 5g hypergravity. Rapid changes in gravity are possible, and efficiently mimic the phases of take-off and landing during spaceflights. The equipment allows vivo studies up to one month without discontinuation.
